What is it?

 

IYAC’s Liquid Lift combines two of our most popular treatments - Botox and Fillers – into one treatment that offers the best of both worlds. Oftentimes, people have a combination of facial concerns, some of which that are best treated with Botox, and some with injectable fillers. The Liquid Lift allows these concerns to be corrected with one simple and effective treatment. The Liquid Lift is a non-surgical technique that aims to give a natural and fresh rejuvenation effect while minimising recovery time and telltale signs of having “work” done. The combination of Botox and Fillers work together to give the effect of a mini facelift without any surgery – or the risks of surgery - required.

What are the benefits?

 

The Liquid Lift provides the benefit of both Botox and Fillers in one procedure since some areas of the face respond better to one treatment over the other.

 

Botox is the preferred treatment for:

• wrinkles around the outer portion of the eyes (Crow’s feet)
• horizontal lines in the forehead when raising eyebrows (forehead lines)
• less pronounced vertical lines between eyes (frown lines)
• small lines on nose when smiling (bunny lines)
• popply or dimpled chins

 

Fillers are the preferred treatment for:

• hollowing under the eyes
• hollowing of the cheeks
• more pronounced vertical lines between eyes (frown lines)
• lines from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds) 
• lines causing corners of the mouth to turn down (marionette lines)
• lines around the upper lip (lipstick or smoker’s lines)
• lip enhancement

 

Additionally, certain problems respond better to a combined treatment of both Botox and filler. For example, frown lines can be treated with Botox alone, but a small amount of filler used in conjunction with Botox restores smoothness and opens up the brow area more effectively than with Botox alone. By combining both techniques together, patients will experience results that are more aesthetically pleasing and longer lasting.

 

What can I expect during and after the procedure?

 

The Liquid Lift lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. This procedure is performed with topical and regional local anaesthetic to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Botox is injected using a very fine needle, and most patients report feeling a quick sting similar to an insect bite. Fillers are also injected using a fine needle to fill and enhance the target area, during which time a small amount of tolerable discomfort may be experienced.

 

There may be swelling and redness over the treated area immediately after the treatment. This usually subsides within a few minutes to few hours. Makeup may be applied immediately after the treatment. Most patients are able to resume normal activities on the same day or by the next day. (Note that strenuous exercise should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment.)

 

Results are immediate (with the exception of Sculptra which takes a month to see full effects), however the face may take a few days to settle into its natural shape. A small amount of swelling or puffiness for 3-5 days is normal.

 

How long do the results last?

 

Liquid Lift using Restylane or Juvederm lasts 6-9 months, while Radiesse lasts 18 months and Sculptra lasts for 2 years. Refresher treatments are recommended every 6 to 24 months depending on the type of filler used and desired results. Results are consistent and reproducible.

 

Is the Liquid Lift safe?

 

Botox is FDA-approved and has been widely tested and used safely for many years. The fillers used at IYAC – Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Sculptra – are FDA-approved and have been safely used worldwide for some time.

 

What are the side effects?

 

The Liquid Lift aims to provide a natural rejuvenation with minimal bruising and swelling. However, some patients may experience some bruising, swelling or tenderness following the treatment. These typically resolve spontaneously within 2 to 10 days. The use of anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin may cause increased risks of bruising at the injection site.

 

What do I need to do to prepare for a Liquid Lift?

 

If you are preparing to look great for an event, schedule your treatment 3-4 weeks before the date, especially if you are having a filler treatment for the first time. This will give enough time for bruises to recover should they occur, as well as time for touch-ups if required.
