What is it?

GentleWaves LED is a breakthrough technology that utilizes LED Photomodulation to restore healthy and smooth skin while slowing down the aging process. LED Photomodulation is FDA-approved and a gentle, safe treatment for wrinkle reduction, facial discolourations and other telltale signs of photo-aging. The energy delivered by the LEDs does not rely on heat, so there is no pain, discomfort or trauma to the skin.

 

How does it work?

Beginning in our 20s, our skin starts to lose collagen and elastin which overtime leads to wrinkles, sagging, and other visible signs of aging. In a process similar to photosynthesis in plants, the LEDs (light emitting diodes) deliver light into the skin in a unique, pulsing sequence stimulating cells to produce collagen and elastin. Additionally, LED Photomodulation suppresses collagen-degrading enzymes that promote the aging process. The combination of collagen production and prevention of additional collagen loss delicately restores a youthful vitality to the skin.

 

Who is the ideal candidate for GentleWaves?

GentleWaves is the preferred treatment for anyone desiring subtle facial changes with no downtime. Can GentleWaves be combined with other treatments?

Yes. GentleWaves can be used by itself, or in combination with other rejuvenation techniques, such as Botox, fillers, IPL and laser treatments. We have found that results of these treatments are actually enhanced when followed up with a GentleWaves session.

 

What can I expect during the procedure?

You will be comfortably seated in a private treatment area before being asked to close your eyes. The GentleWaves machine will release a cascading array of over 2,000 yellow pulsing LED lights that will penetrate your face and skin. When the light sequence is completed, you can safely open your eyes, and the treatment is complete. The entire process is finished in just one minute.

 

How much time do I need to recover?

None. There is no redness, and makeup may be applied immediately after.

 

How many follow-up appointments will I need?

Six treatments, once to twice a week, are necessary for optimal results. Expect smoother, softer and clearer skin after 6 treatments. Since skin continues to age, maintenance treatments are necessary to prolong and enhance healthier skin. Results are progressive, so you will notice significant improvement in the texture and appearance of your skin with each session. Many patients see improvements for months following their last treatment.
