Menopause
Used to describe the end of a woman's menstrual periods, the menopause is an inevitable life-stage for every woman, occurring most commonly between the ages of 45 and 55.
A natural part of the female aging process, the menopause usually occurs when the ovaries cease the production of estrogen hormones, marking the end of the reproductive period. However a hysterectomy or illness can also trigger the menopause to begin and the resultant loss of fertility doesn't begin to touch on the myriad of side effects that can occur.
