What is Botox Facelift?

A Botox Facelift is an innovative procedure whereby diluted amounts of Botox are injected in very small amounts directly into the dermis, or skin, to increase collagen stimulation and firming. The result is a lifting and tightening effect over the whole face.

How is it different from conventional Botox?

Conventional Botox is injected into the muscles rather than the skin. Hence, the undesirable risks of Botox, such as a frozen expression, are greatly reduced. A Botox Facelift is administered in the same manner as conventional Botox – through a series of small injections – but with fewer risks.

How does it work?

By injecting Botox directly into the skin (and not muscle), pores contract and reduce in size causing the surface area of the skin to tighten. The result is a lifting effect that lasts for months – like a non-surgical facelift effect. Additionally, injecting intradermal Botox into the lower part of the face close to the jawline cancels some of the downward pull of the platysma muscle, conveying a lifting effect to the cheeks and jowls.

Are there any additional benefits to this treatment?

Not only does a Botox Facelift lift and tighten the skin, but pores are minimized, skin texture is evened out and the lower face is slimmed. The overall look is fresh and youthful in a natural way that doesn’t compromise facial expressions.

What happens during a treatment?

Anaesthetic cream is first applied on the face. Tiny injections of Botox using a very fine needle are placed in strategic locations all over the face. The treatment takes about twenty minutes. Most patients feel a series of quick stings but discomfort is minimal and brief.

When are results visible?

Results are noticeable within a week and continue to improve in the following weeks to months thereafter.

How long do the results last?

Results last an average of three to six months after one treatment, and longer with repeat treatments.

Can a Botox Facelift be combined with other treatments?

Yes. For additional benefits, Botox Facelifts can be combined with conventional Botox, Botox for jaw slimming, fillers (see Liquid Lift and Nefertiti Neck Lift) and ultrasound (see Non-surgical Facelift).

Who is a good candidate for a Botox Facelift?

Good candidates are those whose brows, cheeks and jawlines are just beginning to sag and look tired and who wish to have the whole face rejuvenated in one treatment. It is also preferred by those who do not wish to have any telltale signs of work done as well as those who prefer a more natural look, meaning that not all lines are erased but the overall appearance is fresher.
