What is it?

A Non-surgical Facelift is a combination treatment that significantly lifts and tightens the brows, cheeks, jawline and neck. It combines the uplifting power of a Botox Facelift with the tightening effects of Ultherapy® to bring about results that, when combined, considerably outperform those of either treatment when administered alone.

What is a Botox Facelift?

A Botox Facelift is an innovative procedure whereby diluted amounts of Botox are injected in small amounts directly into the skin to lift, firm and tighten the whole face. This differs from the conventional use of Botox, which is injected into muscles to spot treat a specific area. Additionally, Botox injected into the lower part of the face at the jawline counteracts the downward pull of the facial and neck muscles, which conveys a lifting effect to the cheeks and jowls. What is Ultherapy®?

Ultherapy® is a non-surgical face and neck treatment that uses ultrasound to lift and tone loose skin. Heat energy is delivered deep below the surface of the skin to stimulate new collagen growth. The beauty of Ultherapy® is that it is able to target deep facial tissues without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Read more about Ultherapy® here.

What is the difference between Ultherapy® and other machine-based skin tightening treatments like Thermage or Radiofrequency?

Almost all skin tightening treatments use heat energy to tighten the skin and stimulate collagen. The heat energy that is used in Ultherapy® is focused ultrasound, which penetrates the deep skin layers – or the Superfical Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) – which are the same tissues that plastic surgeons target when performing surgical facelifts. Being able to target the deepest skin layer in a non-invasive way differentiates Ultherapy® from other tightening treatments.

Why are Non-surgical Facelifts so effective?

The combination of the two treatments has a synergistic effect that outperforms the results of either treatment performed alone. In addition, both treatments have no downtime, high satisfaction rates, consistent results and are ideal for the busy individual.

How many sessions are included in a Non-surgical Facelift?

Each treatment is one session of Ultherapy® followed two weeks later by three sessions of Botox Facelift, scheduled 16 weeks apart.

Is this treatment painful?

The discomfort is tolerable and well-managed. Anaesthetic cream is applied before each session. Botox is injected using a very fine needle, which feels like a series of quick stings. Ultherapy® has become significantly more comfortable over the years. Patients report that it feels like tiny needle injections, generally well tolerated with some occassional intense spots.

What happens during a Non-surgical Facelift? How long does it take?

Botox is administered in tiny doses all over the face, which takes about twenty minutes. Ultherapy® is somewhat similar to ultrasounds that women receive when they are pregnant. Ultrasound gel is applied, and a handpiece glides over the skin delivering heat energy to the face and neck. This process also takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Together with time for the anesthetic cream to take effect and a Gentlewaves®LED treatment to improve healing at the end, a full-face treatment takes between 60 to 90 minutes.

How soon can I see results, and how long do they last?

The Botox Facelift delivers quick results noticeable within a week; results then continue to improve in the following weeks to months thereafter. Ultherapy® takes a little more time; results are visible within two to three months, although many clients see a firming and lifting effect as early as two weeks after the treatment. Further improvements can appear up to six months after a single treatment.

If I like the results, how often will I need follow-up treatments to maintain the results?

A Botox Facelift can be repeated three to six months later. Ultherapy® is recommended as a once yearly treatment, although those with severe skin laxity may benefit from two treatments in a year.

Is there any downtime with this treatment?

No. There are no special after-care requirements, and you can resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment.
