What is it?
Botox is injected into the muscles that cause wrinkles to form on the face. It is a safe and simple method to reduce wrinkles and smooth fine lines while providing a fresher, more youthful look.
How does it work?
We use our facial muscles to speak, eat and communicate emotion on a daily basis. Overtime, wrinkles tend to form in the areas that we utilize frequently, such as frown lines on the forehead, smile lines on the cheeks and crow's feet around the eyes. Botox relaxes the facial muscles that lie beneath these areas, causing the lines to gradually smooth out while simultaneously preventing new lines from forming.
I am afraid that Botox will leave me with a frozen, mannequin face. Will this happen to me?
Botox does not paralyze muscles when administered by experienced hands. Dr Yeoh can create the right treatment plan for you by customizing the dosage and specific muscles to be treated in order to minimize wrinkles yet preserve your ability to show emotion and expression.
What happens during a treatment?
A small amount of Botox is directly injected into select muscles using a very fine needle. Generally, the treatment takes about ten minutes. Most patients feel a series of quick stings but discomfort is minimal and brief. Anaesthetic cream can be used to reduce discomfort.
When are results visible?
After an injection, it takes approximately three to seven days for Botox to take effect.
How long do results last?
A single treatment lasts between three to six months before lines slowly begin to return. After repeated Botox treatments, the treated muscles tend to atrophy so the effects tend to last longer
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. For additional benefits, Botox to treat lines and wrinkles can be combined with a Botox Facelift, fillers (see Liquid Lift and Nefertiti Neck Lift) and ultrasound (see Non-surgical Facelift).
From S$300 to S$1500 depending on the area. All prices are subject to 7% GST.
