What is REJURAN®?

REJURAN® is a DNA injection (of salmon origins) that activates the skin’s self-regenerating ability for healing damaged skin.
REJURAN® is made of salmon DNA. Why salmon and why DNA?  The use of salmon DNA is safe and compatible with the human body. Salmon DNA is useful in repairing thin, damaged and aged skin. Studies have shown improvements in the thickness and quality of the skin within four weeks of administration of REJURAN®.

Is REJURAN® right for me?

This DNA injection is ideal for patients – male and female – who wish to:

- Heal inflamed skin (e.g. eczema, acne)
- Improve the appearance of facial scars (may need to combine with other treatments like subcision)
- Improve fine lines and wrinkles in difficult-to-treat areas (e.g. under-eyes)
- Stabilize dry and sensitive skin
- Stabilize oily skin
- Keep skin young and healthy

Which areas of the face can REJURAN® treat?

As REJURAN® is injected very superficially into the upper layer of the skin, it is safe to be used on all parts of the face, including areas which are traditionally difficult to treat with other injectables, such as the under-eyes.

At IYAC, the treatment is customised to target your concerns.

What can I expect during and after the procedure?

The administration of a full vial of REJURAN® typically takes 20 minutes. This procedure is performed with local anaesthesia to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. REJURAN® is injected using a very fine needle, and while you may hardly feel the needle, you may experience a tolerable but quick stinging sensation as REJURAN® is injected into the skin. REJURAN® may also be injected with an injector gun.

The session ends with LED treatment to speed the healing process of the needle marks.

There may be some initial redness, swelling or papules on the treated areas immediately after REJURAN® treatment, but this usually subsides in 24 to 48 hours. You may resume usual activities and apply make-up the next day.

How much DNA is included in one session?

Each REJURAN® session at IYAC includes 2ml of DNA, which is the manufacturer’s recommended dose for one treatment.

Is REJURAN® safe?

REJURAN® is biocompatible with human tissue, and adverse reactions are rare. Side effects are mainly limited to the needle marks, redness, bruising and small swellings that resolve in 1-2 days.
REJURAN® is HSA approved and has been used widely in Korea, China and Europe for many years to help thousands achieve healthier skin.

How many sessions do I need? When do I expect to see results?

We recommend an initial three sessions, done at monthly intervals, followed by maintenance sessions every three to six months.
Unlike other injectables, injecting REJURAN® is akin to having a boost of healing supplement to the skin. Results are not immediate, rather your skin gradually improves over time (2-4 weeks) and with each treatment. Results are cumulative with repeated treatments.

Who is not a good candidate for REJURAN®?

Women who are breastfeeding or pregnant should not receive REJURAN®.
People with bleeding disorders, previous allergic reactions that required hospital treatment, or a history of keloid scarring should also avoid REJURAN®.

If you have had previous facial injections or procedures, do inform our doctors at the initial consult so that they can assess your suitability for Rejuran.

What do I prepare for REJURAN®?

To minimise bruising, do stop blood-thinning supplements and medications five days before your treatment. This includes aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil and gingko. Also, do inform the IYAC doctors if you have occasional bouts of cold sores as medication to prevent a recurrence may be necessary.

From $600* per session. Prices are subject to GST.
