Step 1: See your doctor! Get your scalp checked.
Step 2: If the scalp looks okay, get your blood checked, in particular, check for vitamin D3, B12, iron and folate.1

If there are minimal improvements after 6 months of supplements, get your scalp formally analysed. With the diagnosis of progressive hair loss (androgenetic alopecia or male-pattern balding or female-pattern balding), you can then consider medications and/or autologous micrograft hair loss treatment to halt further hair loss and improve hair growth (for mild to moderate cases). There is also data to suggest hair microneedling2 as a useful adjunctive therapy.
