What is it?
Gold Thread Lift is a form of thread lift surgery designed to firm up sagging skin in the cheek and jaw line by threading a web of gold into your skin and underlying soft tissues. Real 24 karat gold threads are used to tighten and rejuvenate the patient’s face, resulting in a more youthful, balanced look.
How does it work?
During the procedure, micro-fine surgical gold threads are implanted into the sub-dermal skin. The gold triggers a reaction within the skin tissue to coat the threads with collagen. As blood circulation intensifies in the surrounding tissue, an increased supply of oxygen and nutrients flows to the treated area. The skin begins to tighten and elasticity is restored, making the face more youthful.
Are Gold Thread Lifts only for the face?
No. While the Gold Thread Lift can be performed on the cheeks, forehead, eyes, mouth and neck, other areas that can be successfully treated include the cleavage, arms, hands, stomach and inner thighs.
Is a Gold Thread Lift right for me?
Good candidates are young to middle-age patients who are looking to firm up their skin. The procedure also has the effect of softening expression lines, wrinkles and mild nasolabial folds.

What can I expect during the treatment?
Gold Thread Lift is performed under a local anaesthetic. The procedure uses an implantation technique whereby micro-fine gold threads are inserted into the skin with a needle. An invisible gold web is weaved to hold the facial tissues in place and prevent sagging of the skin. The procedure is completed in one single treatment that lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
What are the risks or possible side effects?
The procedure carries minimal risks, as pure gold is inert and does not cause any allergic reactions or foreign body responses. There is no bleeding or scarring, and swelling is rare. Any complications that may occur are typically minor, such as bruising.
