My friend had Collagen stimulating fillers and loved it. How do I know which filler is right for me?
IYAC offers many types of fillers on the market today – But just because a friend had great results with one type of filler doesn’t mean it’s right for you. Each filler varies in consistency, strength and composition. The part of the body/face being treated, the exact problem being corrected and the amount of volumising desired all play a role in deciding which filler is suitable for you. For example, fine lines are usually treated with thin hyaluronic acid based fillers, while thicker fillers are used to restore lost volume. Some fillers have lifting effects to restore sagging skin, while others are not recommended for use under the eyes. At IYAC, you will undergo a thorough consultation with our doctors before a filler treatment will be recommended to you.
Is there a “best” filler out there?
There isn’t a filler that works best in all situations, unfortunately. Each part of the face has a specific area where certain fillers are more appropriate. Each filler has its strong points, and each has circumstances where it is not ideal.
What happens during a treatment?
After anaesthesia cream is applied, filler is injected using an ultrafine needle. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. Occasional stings can be felt, but overall pain is minimal and well tolerated.
How many syringes do I need?
Most people need one to two syringes. One syringe treats mild nasolabial folds, while more pronounced folds require two. One syringe smoothens undereye hollows in a subtle way, and two provides a more significant freshening effect.
How soon will I see results?
Results are usually visible not long after the treatment, though some fillers like Poly-L-lactic acid take about a month to materialise. Two to three monthly treatments are recommended for optimal and long-lasting effects. Maintenance treatments are recommended every six to nine months.
Is there any downtime?
Temporary swelling and bruising may occur. We recommend you book an appointment at least three weeks prior to a special event.
Who is a good candidate for this treatment?
People who have lost volume in their faces due to age or weight loss, those with deep facial folds and fine to moderate wrinkles and those that would like to contour specific parts of the face.
