Why I Decided to Try IYAC’s Pro-Ageing Program

When I started writing about medical aesthetics more than ten years ago, the overly taut era of the facelift was over.

Since then, the industry has steadily moved toward minimally invasive treatments — gentler, faster and far less obvious. Now, another shift is underway as regenerative aesthetics gain ground.

This approach isn’t about “fixing” problem areas. It doesn’t freeze muscles or plump up parts of the face. Instead, regenerative aesthetics focuses on maintaining and improving skin quality over time — something that feels far more sustainable to me.

Up until now, I’ve relied heavily on skincare to do this. But there comes a point — especially now in my late forties — when no amount of serums or moisturisers seems enough. My skin, particularly around the eyes and cheeks, often felt persistently dry and dull.

This is why regenerative aesthetics makes sense to me. It represents a shift away from volumisation and toward biostimulation — prompting the skin to produce more of its own collagen, the protein that keeps it supple, radiant and firm.

Four Things to Know About This Philosophy
1. The focus is on skin quality. Skin texture, hydration and elasticity contribute most to how youthful and healthy we appear.
2. It uses microdoses of “skinboosters.” These are biocompatible compounds that carry fewer risks of bumps or vascular complications compared to traditional fillers. The goal is subtle rejuvenation, not adding volume.
3. It works well with other treatments. Botulinum toxin can erase wrinkles, and fillers can restore lost volume — but neither improves skin health. Regenerative treatments complement these by working on the skin itself.
4. Results are gradual and natural-looking, with minimal downtime. You’ll look refreshed — not obviously “treated.”

This approach may suit anyone noticing early signs of dryness, dullness or skin laxity — and who prefers subtle, natural-looking results.

What the Treatment is Like

IYAC’s Pro-Ageing Program follows this regenerative philosophy. After reading about it and speaking with Dr Yeoh, I decided to try it for myself.

Each session involves two components. The treatment I received used PDLLA (Poly-D-L-Lactic Acid) for collagen stimulation and HA (Hyaluronic Acid) for hydration. Together, they aim to support skin quality without changing how you look.

For those with sensitive skin or weakened barriers, there are also alternatives like Polynucleotides (PDRN) — DNA fragments derived from salmon or trout known for their regenerative properties.

The Deep Boost — Targeted Support Where It’s Needed Most
Dr Yeoh began by using a cannula to deliver PDLLA and HA into areas needing support — for me, that was around the eyes and along the marionette lines.

Once half my face was done, Dr Yeoh held up a handheld mirror. Staring back was a version of me I hadn’t seen in a while — brows gently lifted and the outer eye area smoother and more refined. The change was subtle but noticeable.

There was no puffiness or exaggerated effect — just a fresher, softer version of myself.

The Surface Glow — Supporting Skin Quality Overall
Next came the injector gun, used for a series of micro-injections across the entire face. This part was surprisingly gentle — it felt like tiny suction cup kisses on the skin.

What stood out was that even delicate areas like the undereyes and eyelids could be treated. There was no pain or downtime — just an all-over boost.

I dusted on makeup afterward and went about my day. No one noticed anything different, and I even slept on my side that night without any discomfort.

How My Skin Responded
After two sessions, I noticed how much softer and more hydrated my skin felt — especially around my eyes and cheeks. I even found myself reaching up throughout the day, surprised by how healthy my skin felt.

But the most obvious change came after the third treatment. Dr Yeoh had mentioned that melasma sometimes lightens as skin quality improves — and sure enough, my pigmentation, which had been resistant to other treatments, showed improvement.

I also noticed a gentle lift along my jawline. Not dramatic — just a slight, natural improvement.

A Personal Take
I’ve always believed in caring for health from the inside out — focusing on sleep, regular exercise and good quality food. This feels like another tool in the bag — something that supports my skin’s health and keeps it feeling supple and hydrated.

And most importantly, I still look exactly like me — just a little fresher, softer and more radiant. And that, for me, is the best result of all.
